Learning & Life Skills Center
The Starts With The Heart Learning & Life Skills Center is a safe, supportive space where youth grow academically, socially, and personally. Open weekly (with plans to expand), our center helps students succeed by offering:
- Academic support with schoolwork, homework help, and access to computers and internet.
- Nutritious meals including breakfast, lunch, and healthy snacks.
- Life skills classes such as cooking, art, t-shirt design, and creative enrichment.
- Drug prevention & awareness workshops to encourage healthy decision-making.
- Mentorship & community through devotionals, encouragement, and guidance from caring adults.
Our mission is to empower youth with the tools, resources, and life skills they need to thrive in education and beyond.
Food Pantry Distribution
No one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. Through our Food Pantry Distribution Ministry, we are building partnerships to provide consistent support for families facing food insecurity.
Each month, households can receive groceries and essential staples that not only help stretch their resources but also bring peace of mind. Beyond meeting physical needs, our pantry is a place of encouragement, where families are reminded that they are not forgotten and that God faithfully provides.
Our mission is to walk alongside families in difficult seasons, offering nourishment, hope, and the love of Christ through the simple yet powerful act of sharing food.
Clothing & Resource Distribution
Every family deserves dignity, stability, and the reassurance that their basic needs can be met. Through our Clothing, Shoes, Diapers & Household Support Ministry, we come alongside families in moments of need with practical care and the love of Christ.
As donations allow, we provide clothing for children and adults, shoes that bring comfort and confidence, diapers and baby supplies for growing families, and household goods that help transform a house into a home. Each item may seem simple, but together they represent hope, relief, and the reminder that God provides.
Our mission is to ease immediate burdens, strengthen families, and reflect the heart of Jesus by serving with generosity and compassion.
Heat Relief (Summer)
Every summer, when the heat is at its most dangerous, we open our doors to provide relief and hope for those who need it most. Our Heat Relief Ministry is more than cold water and a cool room, it’s a tangible expression of Christ’s love.
At our respite stations, guests are welcomed with refreshing drinks, nourishing meals, showers to restore dignity, and a safe, air conditioned space to rest. For many, this care is life saving. For all, it is a reminder that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
Our mission is simple: to protect the vulnerable during extreme heat, to serve with compassion, and to reflect God’s heart by meeting both physical and spiritual needs.
Monthly Community Banquets
Gathering around a table nurtures both body and soul. Our Monthly Community Banquets bring families and individuals together to share a meal, build relationships, and experience connection, dignity, and hope. These gatherings create a welcoming environment where guests are valued, encouraged, and reminded of God’s love in tangible ways.
